We Are a Constitutional Republic, Not a Democracy
Although our society functions democratically, contrary to what most U.S. citizens understand, we are a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy. Democracy, as a government, operates on the premise that the will of the majority be imposed on those in the minority.
Therefore, our Constitution provides for the protection of our God-given, unalienable rights in order to protect the individual and the minority against the will of the majority. The framers of our Constitution understood, through centuries of persecution under tyranny, that the will of the majority, if imposed, will always lead to the violation of human rights, God-given rights and civil liberties, thereby embracing tyranny.
Above all, our Constitution recognizes that our rights come from God, and not from Government; and that the purpose of Government, first and foremost, is to protect our God-given rights.
Why Do We Need Liberty Action Councils?
To Develop Direct and Sustained Contact With Legislators and Other Elected Officials! Currently, the checks and balances provided by our Constitutional Republic under the Constitution that is the highest law of governance in America have been practically destroyed due to the negligence of the public in allowing government to remove them.
