Kedarji, the Founder of our school, has a rich history in the performing arts.
As a result of the training he received from his mother, concert/opera singer Elizabeth Foster, he began his performing arts career on Broadway, co-starring in such hits as ‘Maggie Flynn,’ with Jack Cassidy and Shirley Jones, and ‘The Great White Hope’ with James Earl Jones and Jane Alexander.
He also appeared in the early television episodes of ‘Sesame Street,’ with Freda Payne. He played supporting roles in films such as ‘Cancel My Reservation’ with Bob Hope and Eva Marie Saint.
His segue into the music business included getting his BA in performance at Manhattan School of Music, with a major in violin performance and a minor in conducting and composition. His performances in classical music include chamber music concerts at Carnegie Hall with Carroll Glenn (his violin teacher) and pianist Eugene List.
He left the classical music field to play, compose and record Jazz, and performed with a number of artists including:

- Jon Faddis
- Illinois Jacquet
- McCoy Tyner
- Dr. Billy Taylor
- Wynton and Branford Marsalis
- Marty Ashby
- Pop and Jazz artist, Stevie Wonder
And cross over, world music artists such as:
- Steve Gorn
- Richard Shulman
- Glen Velez
- Uttara Koorlawala
- Dr. L. Subramaniam (whom he also studied Indian Classical violin with)
In addition, he also produced records under the ShoreFire Pop/Jazz record label and produced concerts through World Cultural Center in New York City, a not-for-profit that he founded.
